“What is real? How do you define real? If you’re talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.” —Morpheus, The Matrix (via gardenofthefareast)

7 Principles of Alchemy from the Kybalion

http://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/kyb/index.htm
^Link to where the info came from

I. The Principle of Mentalism – “The ALL is MIND; The Universe is Mental.”

II. The Principle of Correspondence -  “As above, so below; as below, so above.”

III. The Principle of Vibration – “Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”

IV. The Principle of Polarity -  “Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled”

V. The Principle of Rhythm – “Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”

VI. The Principle of Cause and Effect – “Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.”

VII. The Principle of Gender – “Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes.”

————- Highly recommend checking out the Kybalion… I consider myself an alchemist and student of hermetic wisdom…and damn proud of it!

“Ego destroys the effectiveness of the message” —

Drained

I am mentally and emotionally drained today. Humans make the same mistakes and keep perpetuating the same hateful practices no matter what history has taught us. We don’t make any progress due to hypocrisy, prejudice, bigotry and religious views. It sad to see we will haven’t learned.

Through all of this all I can do is keep a positive spirit and work toward the betterment of myself and the people I come in contact with.

Peace and be positive…

“Africa actually enriches Europe; but Africa is made to believe that it needs Europe to rescue it from poverty. Africa’s natural and human resources continue to develop Europe and America, but Africa is made to feel grateful for aid from the same quarters that still sit on the back of the continent. Africa even produces intellectuals who now rationalise this upside-down way of looking at Africa”

“In the United States, during segregation, Black American travelers, unable to stay in hotels restricted to White patrons, stopped at churches and told the Black ministers or deacons of their predicaments. Church officials would select a home and then inform the unexpecting hosts of the decision. There was never a protest, but the new hosts relied on the generosity of their neighbors to help feed and even entertain their guests. After the travelers were settled, surreptitious knocks would sound on the back door.
In Stamps, Arkansas, I heard so often, “Sister Henderson. I know you’ve got guests. Here’s a pan of biscuits.”
“Sister Henderson, Mama sent a half a cake for your visitors.”
“Sister Henderson, I made a lot of macaroni and cheese. Maybe this will help with your visitors.”
My grandmother would whisper her thanks and finally when the family and guests sat down at the table, the offerings were so different and plentiful it appeared that days had been spent preparing the meal.”

Maya Angelou in All God’s Children Need Traveling Shoes

We no longer have the community we need to survive….

“Many American Negroes in the early fifties were enraged whenever they saw a natural hair style in public. They felt betrayed, as if the women wearing the frizzy coiffure were giving away secrets; as if they were letting White folks know that our hair wasn’t naturally straight. I had seen Black people curse each other on New York City subways and had seen women snubbed in streets throughout the United States because they dared to reveal their Negro-ness.” —

Maya Angelou in All God’s Children Need Traveling Shoes

I think this is still true (although maybe on a lesser level) today.
